Dental Bonding
Dental Bonding is a technique that allows us to produce dramatic results quickly and easily. We can fill gaps in your teeth or make a chipped tooth whole or cover stained teeth. It is the most flexible technique we have and one of the most inexpensive.”
At Westlake Hills Dentistry, Dr. Ho offers composite bonding which is an excellent way to correct teeth that are chipped, misaligned, or discolored. Bonding not only repairs individual teeth, it can also be used to create a more uniform smile by filling in gaps and adjusting tooth alignment. Composite dental bonding is much like having a sculptor use beautiful white material to treat problem areas on your teeth.
Before and After Dental Bonding
The Bonding Procedure
First the doctor examines the tooth and talks to you about the bonding process. He will explain each step of the procedure and answer any of your questions you may have. He then prepares the tooth or teeth to receive the composite bonding materials. A special solution is used on the surface of the tooth so the composite material will adhere to it. Next several thin layers of the composite bonding material are applied and sculpted into the shape desired. Dr. Ho sculpts each tooth to the most desirable shape, color, and size for your mouth and face. The bonding material is hardened with a high-intensity light, and finally the tooth or teeth are given a final polish.
The composite bonding material used can be personalized to any shade or whiteness to give you an aesthetically pleasing smile. Results last between five and ten years. After this time repolishing is recommended. Repolishing is inexpensive and completely painless and can be done in one visit to maintain your beautiful smile.
With over ten years of experience, he has received advanced training in Cosmetic, Restorative, Endodontic and Implant Dentistry and has been an instructor as well. Dr. Ho is also an Invisalign certified dentist. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
